STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS

Thank you for choosing to book with Grendon Bed & Breakfast. We look forward to welcoming you to our home. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please take note of the terms and conditions of booking below.

ARRIVAL

Check in is between 4pm and 6pm. If you plan to arrive earlier or later than these times please let us know so we can make sure we are here to welcome you.

DEPARTURE

Check out is by 10.30am on the day of departure. We are happy to store your bags for collection at an agreed later time, subject to availability.

PAYMENT

For direct bookings we secure your reservation using the card details provided. We DO NOT charge your card.

If you should cancel within 14 days of the reservation we reserve the right to charge the card with the cost of the first night’s stay. Cancellation within 48 hours will result in the card being charged for the full cost of the booking.

For bookings via an Online Travel Agent (OTA) eg ‘Booking.Com’ their terms and conditions apply regarding the payment and cancellation policy.  For non refundable rates payment is taken at the time of booking.

We strongly advise that you have travel insurance to cover the cost of your stay in the event of cancellation.

Our listed prices include accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis. Any extras are charged as ordered.

We accept cash or card payment on departure although regret we do not accept cheque or Amex and Diners cards. We also accept bank transfers, cleared, before departure.

SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the house or gardens. Any evidence of guests smoking in the rooms will lead to the guest/s being asked to leave and being charged in full. An additional cost of £100 will be charged to the card used to secure the booking for deep cleaning required in the room.

ROOMS

We have a maximum of two people per room (except for Ladybower which has the addition of a sofa bed and can accommodate a third person). We welcome children over the age of 12. No take-away food is allowed in our bedrooms but you are welcome to use the dining room.

PARKING

We have parking for up to 4 visitor vehicles on the driveway. There is plenty more free parking available to the front of the property on the road. Guests are advised that the parking is entirely at your own risk.

PETS

Our rooms are not pet friendly and we do not currently accept pets. We do however accept assistance dogs with prior notice. We do have two Burmese cats ourselves who have access to the whole house so would advise anyone with a cat allergy to consider the suitability of our home for their accommodation needs.

NON-AVAILABILITY

In the unlikely event that we would need to cancel your accommodation we would endeavour to find alternative accommodation for you. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, we would refund ALL monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES

We reserve the right to charge for breakages and/or damages you may cause to the accommodation or its contents. We understand accidents do happen so would only charge in the case of significant, malicious or negligent damage. Please report any such incidents as soon as they occur.

Please remember Grendon is also our home and any items on display, or being used in the running of our business belong to us. Anything removed without prior agreement will be charged at the replacement value. This includes bathrobes, hairdryers, straighteners etc.

LIABILITY

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or any contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

COVID-19 ADDITIONAL TERMS & CONDITIONS (in place until 31 December 2020)

ARRIVAL

Please advise arrival time by calling 30 minutes before arrival. This is to ensure we are able to maintain adequate social distancing should more than one room plan to arrive at similar times. We may need to ask you to wait in the car until it’s safe to allow you to check-in.

PAYMENT

Our standard payment terms and conditions apply to bookings via an OTA. If you have booked via our website and develop COVID-19 symptoms before your stay, please cancel your booking. We will not charge for any cancellation due to suffering from the government recognised symptoms. If you arrive at our premises with COVID-19 symptoms you will be asked to leave. We will not charge for your stay.

Should you develop symptoms during your stay and you choose to leave (do not use public transport) we will not charge for unused nights beyond check out. Should you need to isolate at our premises you will be charged the daily rate for the additional nights required until you are able to leave safely. Any additional services ie food/medicines will be charged extra, at cost.

NON-AVAILABILITY

Should we need to, due to COVID-19, we reserve the right to move guests to a room other than that booked. If the room is a lower/higher rate than the room originally booked, the rate charged will be the lower of the two.

Should we need to close our premises due to self-isolation of a guest, or ourselves, we would refund ALL monies paid by you for stays which we cannot honour. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

If your stay is cut short due to COVID-19 you will be charged only for the nights completed before the curtailment.

CONTACT TRACING

Should information be requested by the government test and trace system, we will pass on only the required information within 21 days of your stay.

LIABILITY

We have undertaken a COVID-19 risk assessment, in accordance with government guidelines and implemented measures to reduce the risk to our guests and team, but due to the nature of the disease we cannot guarantee you will not contract the virus whilst travelling away from home.
